We run a Monday Club (Day Centre) on Mondays at Firth Park Methodist Church Hall, which includes the more profoundly disabled. Activities include an art and craft group and cookery classes. Timings are 10am to 3pm and a hot meal is provided.
Our Sports and Social Club takes place on (most) Wednesdays at the Graham Solley Sports Centre ( Sheffield Hallam University), Bawtry Road Tinsley 10am to 4pm. Hot food and refreshments are available. The club provides opportunities for new activities and to make new friends. We promote independence and members assist in the running of the Club and its programme. People are referred by relatives and friends or through our Home Visitor service, and become members after ascertaining their personal needs and wishes. Our Recreation Officer and volunteers work closely with disability sports organisations. We can offer Boccia, Table Tennis, Pool, Polybat, Football, Cricket and other sports. We run a Boccia league and three football teams – our Championship side is one of the leading teams in the country. We have a programme of visits to other indoor and outdoor centres, and exchange visits and competitions with other clubs in our region including Stoke on Trent Grimsby and Bradford. At the end of each year we hold an Awards Ceremony when awards are made to winning members and teams in the Club.
